CarbonQuota is delighted to be the Sustainability partner within ePS’s newly launched CommandCore™ platform, marking an important step forward in the integration of carbon data into packaging operations.
Announced by ePS on 29 April 2026, CommandCoreâ„¢ is a unified operational platform designed specifically for packaging manufacturers. It brings together eight core operational pillars on a single architectural foundation, including ERP, MES, control systems, operational excellence, smart scheduling, quality and compliance, sustainability, and smart supply agility. The platform has been developed to address a long-standing challenge across the packaging industry: fragmented systems that slow decision-making, limit visibility and make it harder for manufacturers to respond to rising customer, commercial and regulatory demands.
For CarbonQuota, the launch reinforces a clear direction of travel for the packaging sector: carbon data can no longer sit outside core business systems. As brands, retailers and regulators ask for more detailed and defensible product-level emissions data, packaging manufacturers need sustainability insight at the point where decisions are made, from estimating and quoting through to production planning and reporting.
CarbonQuota’s role sits within the Sustainability pillar of CommandCore™ and is already integrated with the ERP element through Radius ERP. The Radius and CarbonQuota partnership embeds CarbonQuota’s science-based carbon footprint database into Radius ERP, enabling packaging converters to assess the environmental impact of every job directly within their existing operational workflow.
This integration means carbon footprint calculations can be automated at the estimation stage and throughout production planning, reducing the reliance on manual spreadsheets, retrospective reporting and disconnected consultancy-led processes.
The system uses primary material, production and transport data within Radius ERP to provide an end-to-end carbon footprint. This follows the general principles of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (Product Standard), with further guidance from ISO 14044:2006 (Environmental management – Life cycle assessment) and PAS 2050:2011.
CarbonQuota’s partnership with ePS helps address that challenge by making carbon measurement part of everyday packaging operations
For packaging manufacturers, this creates a practical route to more credible carbon reporting. Rather than treating sustainability as a separate exercise, teams can connect production data and carbon data in one workflow. This supports faster customer responses, more informed specification choices, stronger audit trails and greater confidence when providing carbon information to brand owners, procurement teams and stakeholders.
The wider CommandCoreâ„¢ launch also reflects a growing need for packaging-native systems. ePS describes the platform as being built around the realities of packaging manufacturing, including substrate complexity, makeready processes, waste factors, finishing operations and sustainability reporting requirements. This is particularly relevant for carbon measurement, where generic or spend-based approaches often fail to reflect the operational detail that drives emissions at product and job level.
By integrating CarbonQuota’s carbon intelligence with Radius ERP, packaging converters can move beyond broad estimates and start using activity-based data from live production environments. This helps businesses benchmark product footprints, model lower-carbon alternatives, support Net Zero strategies and respond to increasing requests for verified emissions data.
The Sustainability pillar also supports the needs of brand owners. ePS highlights benefits including supplier transparency, detailed product carbon footprints, alternative specifications and stronger collaboration between brands and suppliers. For businesses under pressure to evidence supply chain emissions, this level of integrated data can help turn sustainability from a reporting burden into a commercial advantage.
The launch of CommandCoreâ„¢ comes at a time when packaging businesses face increasing pressure to modernise operations while keeping pace with evolving environmental expectations. Customer demands for product-level carbon data are becoming more frequent, and regulatory frameworks continue to raise the bar for transparency, accuracy and evidence.
CarbonQuota’s partnership with ePS helps address that challenge by making carbon measurement part of everyday packaging operations. Through the Radius ERP integration and its role in the CommandCore™ Sustainability pillar, CarbonQuota enables converters to calculate, understand and communicate product carbon footprints with greater speed, consistency and credibility.
Customer demands for product-level carbon data are becoming more frequent, and regulatory frameworks continue to raise the bar for transparency, accuracy and evidence.
As the industry moves towards more connected, data-led operations, the message is clear: sustainability insight is most powerful when it is embedded directly into the systems packaging businesses already use to run their operations.
