A Collaboration to End Manual Carbon Reporting

Ghent, Belgium / Pittsburgh, USA / London, UK – January 23, 2026

ePS (eProductivity Software), a leading provider of ERP and software solutions for packaging manufacturers and converters, together with Esko, the global leader in integrated software and hardware solutions for the packaging and label industry, and CarbonQuota, a pioneer in scientifically validated carbon footprint measurement, today announced a world-first integrated solution.

This partnership unites workflow automation, ERP, and carbon intelligence into a single, seamless job record from design to delivery. The new combined offering will be unveiled at Packaging Innovations Birmingham on February 11–12 (Booth S150), with a dedicated presentation at the Discovery Theatre on February 12 at 1:00 PM.

With this integration, jobs that once required multiple manual steps can now be produced through a single, fully automated workflow”, said Geert De Proost, Director Product Offering at Esko. “Moreover, a single unified source of truth empowers brand owners to calculate the carbon emissions of their packaging with confidence.

Delivering Value Through Connectivity

As regulatory demands and consumer expectations increase, the pressure on brand owners and packaging converters intensifies. This collaboration addresses these challenges by connecting Esko’s Automation Engine and S2 platform with ePS’ ERP and CarbonQuota’s validated carbon calculation engine, creating a single, connected source of high-quality, decision-ready data across the packaging lifecycle. By ensuring information is consistently accurate and readily available, the integration enables users to make informed decisions with confidence, building trust with customers and supporting long-term performance and growth. The solution delivers significant benefits:

  • Faster Speed-to-Market: By automating the link between ERP and prepress, the solution removes manual interventions, significantly reducing turnaround times and the risk of costly errors.
  • Operational Profitability: Data is captured once and reused across the entire lifecycle, further reducing administrative overhead and protecting margins as print runs shorten and cycle times tighten.
  • Defensible Sustainability: Carbon intelligence is embedded directly into the workflow to provide an auditable, estimate-to-actual sustainability record without switching tools or re-keying data. This delivers certified, auditable CO₂e data to meet packaging buyers’ sustainability requirements and support corporate ESG reporting, while improving transparency and reducing greenwashing risk.

Our collaboration focuses on process efficiency,” added Craig Tait, CPO at ePS. “The bundled solution can be deployed in days. It delivers timely, consistent, and defensible carbon metrics that support both internal sustainability targets and external reporting requirements.

Driving Efficiency and Transparency

“With this integration, jobs that once required multiple manual steps can now be produced through a single, fully automated workflow”, said Geert De Proost, Director Product Offering at Esko. “Moreover, a single unified source of truth empowers brand owners to calculate the carbon emissions of their packaging with confidence.”

Dominic Harris, Co-Founder of CarbonQuota, commented: Providing real-time, product-level carbon footprints directly within existing workflows eliminates manual processes and removes the risk of inaccurate calculations. It’s a genuine game-changer for the industry.

Future-Proofing the Industry

Together, Esko, ePS, and CarbonQuota deliver a Packaging Connected solution that unites automation, accuracy, and sustainability – helping packaging businesses future-proof their operations in an increasingly complex and regulated market.

Three partners. One workflow. Maximise sellable output sustainably.

Navigating the EU’s new CBAM law for packaging

If you import more than 50 tonnes of aluminium product into the EU, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is now a live compliance requirement - with aluminium covered alongside steel, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity.
From 2026, you must collect data from your supply chain, calculate the carbon emissions, submit data to the authorities, and if necessary pay the appropriate fees.
