CarbonQuota Joins as Founding Partner of ‘A Manifesto for More Sustainable Print’

FuturePrint have announced that CarbonQuota has joined the ‘Manifesto for More Sustainable Print’ initiative as a founding partner. Their involvement marks a significant step forward for the project, which aims to unify the industry around practical, measurable sustainability goals.

The Manifesto – set for formal launch at Labelexpo in September – has been developed in collaboration with leading stakeholders across the print supply chain. It serves as both a strategic framework and a call to action for the industry to reduce environmental impact, improve transparency, and adopt more circular practices.

CarbonQuota brings deep expertise in carbon measurement and reduction, working with major brands, print groups, and suppliers to decarbonise operations and supply chains. Their science-based approach is underpinned by detailed carbon analytics, lifecycle assessments, and actionable reduction strategies.

“CarbonQuota has long been at the forefront of helping businesses understand and act on their environmental impact. Their involvement as a founding partner ensures that the Manifesto is anchored in science, transparency, and credibility. It’s not just about talking sustainability—it’s about delivering it.”

Marcus Timson, Co-Founder of FuturePrint

One of the most striking findings is the rise of Scope 3 as the frontier for business value and carbon impact. While only 54% of companies are on track to meet Scope 3 targets, those that prioritise engagement across the value chain, especially with suppliers and customers, are better positioned to unlock growth, resilience and margin advantage.

Importantly, emissions from product use and upstream supply chains represent a major opportunity for companies to decarbonise while differentiating their offerings.

“Sustainability is no longer a competitive differentiator – it’s a collective obligation. We’re proud to support the Manifesto for More Sustainable Print as a founding partner. It provides a vital platform to align our industry around science, data, and impact—not just intention. Collaboration is key to decarbonising our sector, and this initiative represents a bold and timely step in the right direction.”
Dominic Harris, Co-founder, CarbonQuota

CarbonQuota’s involvement ensures that robust measurement, independent verification, and meaningful carbon reduction are embedded in the Manifesto’s development and roll-out. Their contribution will help establish clear metrics and best practices to support participating businesses on their sustainability journey.

More announcements about the Manifesto’s partners and principles will follow in the coming weeks, as momentum builds toward its official release.

Navigating the EU’s new CBAM law for packaging

If you import more than 50 tonnes of aluminium product into the EU, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is now a live compliance requirement - with aluminium covered alongside steel, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity.
From 2026, you must collect data from your supply chain, calculate the carbon emissions, submit data to the authorities, and if necessary pay the appropriate fees.
