We know the music supply chain, inside-out. Recording. Production. Manufacturing. Pressing. Packaging. Distribution. Physical. Digital. Merchandising. Marketing. We know how every process works. We know how every supplier works.
Our carbon scientists and music industry experts work out the most accurate carbon footprints possible.
We know how to ask for data from your suppliers, how to analyse it, and how to make sense of it.
Sometimes it is about box-ticking. We also make that easy for you by explaining it to everyone involved, and making sure what you report is true. We tell you where you comply, and where you need to do more.
It’s not about being perfect, it’s about doing something.
We are here to do four things:
Measure and certify your carbon emissions
Reduce your carbon footprint
Offset your remaining carbon emissions
Communicate your positive work to artists, fans and colleagues
Own the conversation by making your next release climate positive.
There is still lots to do but we are going to be the first to get there. And we want you to join us.
We are going to work out the carbon footprint for every release. No matter if a physical format, or digital, or merchandise. No matter what territory. And then we are going to help you reduce the carbon used in getting that product to the fan.
And finally we are going to help you offset what can’t be reduced. Carbon neutral means you offset the same amount of carbon as you emit. Climate positive means you offset more than you emit, making a positive difference to the world.
Examples of how we help you communicate
We have a series of labels and statements that can be used to communicate your climate action with artists and fans.
You can highlight being carbon neutral or climate positive by making it part of the artwork on your next release, or in your normal stickering. You can use our Certified logos and written statements in advertising, on websites, or even in official company reports.
Example CO2 statement This album is climate positive and more CO2 has been offset than emitted due to raw materials, production, logistics and end of life.
Example sustainability statement
This album is produced in a supply chain that is certified as exceeding independent standards for sustainable production, carbon management, and circularity.
